It's no longer just a "hacker tamagotchi" like the Flipper Zero, but a mini PC with an open architecture and mainline Linux kernel support.

Since Flipper One is designed as a fully functional computer featuring an ARM processor and high‑speed module support via PCIe, USB 3.0, and SATA interfaces, its capabilities can be expanded with additional internal modules (such as SSDs) and external peripherals like SDR, LTE/5G, or satellite modems.

Flipper‑specific functions can be extended via M.2 and GPIO modules.

Flipper One includes advanced networking features with five independent interfaces: 2× Gigabit Ethernet, USB Ethernet, Wi‑Fi 6E (using the same chip as the Alfa AWUS036AXML), and a cellular modem supporting eSIM, a physical nanoSIM, and external antennas. This setup enables Flipper One to act as a gateway to any network, a bridge between multiple access points, an inline Ethernet sniffer, or a USB Wi‑Fi/Ethernet adapter for PCs and smartphones.

The device also has a built‑in AI accelerator for running lightweight local AI agents and LLMs.

Flipper One can connect via USB Type‑C and full‑size HDMI, functioning as a compact Linux PC.

In addition, the developers plan to create Flipper OS— a Debian‑based layer that allows managing OS profiles. The goal is to enable devices (not only Flipper One but also, for example, Raspberry Pi) to handle varied workloads that require different OS packages and dependencies, which can otherwise impact performance and stability. This should eliminate the need for users to juggle multiple SD cards with separate OS images.

To bring these ambitious plans to life, the team is calling on the community to join the effort through Flipper One Developer Portal.

Reportedly, Flipper One is expected to launch on Kickstarter by year‑end with an estimated price of about $350.
