**Description**
The issue is related to a lack of validation for the reply size of an AudioFlinger effect command in the mediaserver's services/audioflinger/Effects.cpp file. This could allow a local attacker to elevate their privileges using a specially crafted application.
**Recommendations**
For Android versions prior to 4.4.4, update to version 4.4.4 or later.
For Android versions 5.0.x prior to 5.0.2, update to version 5.0.2 or later.
For Android versions 5.1.x prior to 5.1.1, update to version 5.1.1 or later.
For Android versions 6.x before 2016-08-01, update to a version released after 2016-08-01.
