Exponent · Exponent Cms · CVE-2016-7781
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions**
Exponent CMS versions 2.3.9 and earlier
**Description**
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands. This is achieved via the `author` parameter in the blogController.php file, which is part of the framework/modules/blog/controllers directory.
**Recommendations**
For Exponent CMS versions 2.3.9 and earlier, consider restricting access to the `author` parameter in the blogController.php file until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the `author` parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
