Description A buffer overflow issue exists in the NetWin DSMTP 2.7q, part of the NetWin dmail package, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands by sending a long ETRN request.

Recommendations For version 2.7q, consider restricting access to the ETRN request functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the length of ETRN requests to prevent exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
