Description The issue allows remote attackers to use the -c option to specify an alternate configuration file. This could be used to cause a denial of service by specifying a large file, or to read arbitrary files by uploading an alternate configuration file that specifies the target file.

Recommendations For versions 3.1.5 and earlier, consider disabling the -c option to prevent the specification of alternate configuration files until a fix is available. Restrict access to the htsearch CGI program to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the -c option with untrusted input to prevent potential attacks.
