Description: The default aide.conf file does not properly check subdirectories, which could allow local users to bypass detection.

Recommendations: For Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment (AIDE) versions prior to 0.7 1, update to version 0.7 1 or later to resolve the issue. For FreeBSD versions prior to 2002-08-28, update to a version released after 2002-08-28 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider modifying the aide.conf file to properly check subdirectories until a patch is available.
