Description: The addslashes function in PHP does not properly escape a NULL (/0) character, which may allow remote attackers to read arbitrary files in PHP applications that contain a directory traversal vulnerability in require or include statements, but are otherwise protected by the magic quotes gpc mechanism.

Recommendations: For PHP version 4.3.9, consider disabling the use of the addslashes function until a patch is available, and restrict access to sensitive files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
