Description The issue allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files. This can be achieved by exploiting the bos.rte.serv aid or bos.rte.console filesets.

Recommendations For IBM AIX versions 5.1 and 5.2, consider restricting access to the bos.rte.serv aid and bos.rte.console filesets to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
