Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in client termination and loss of backup service. This is achieved by sending a malformed packet to TCP port 497, which triggers an assert error.

Recommendations For EMC Dantz Retrospect 7 backup client versions 7.0.107 through 7.0.108, update to version 7.0.109 or later. For EMC Dantz Retrospect 6.5 versions prior to 6.5.138, update to version 6.5.138 or later.
