Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Avahi versions prior to 0.6.16

Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an infinite loop, by sending a crafted compressed DNS response with a label that points to itself. This is due to a problem in the consume labels function.

Recommendations: For versions prior to 0.6.16, update to version 0.6.16 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the consume labels function in avahi-core/dns.c to minimize the risk of exploitation.
