Description: The issue is a stack-based buffer overflow in the YDPCTL.YDPControl.1 ActiveX control, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long argument to the GetComponentVersion method.

Recommendations: For Yahoo! Widgets versions prior to 4.0.5, update to version 4.0.5 or later. For YDPCTL.YDPControl.1 ActiveX control before 2007.7.13.3, update to version 2007.7.13.3 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the GetComponentVersion method until a patch is available.
