Description The issue allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code via a Trojan horse update. This can be achieved through techniques such as evilgrade and DNS cache poisoning, which exploit the lack of proper verification of update authenticity.
Recommendations For versions prior to 8.6.3.9, update to version 8.6.3.9 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to trusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using untrusted networks or disable the automatic update feature until the issue is resolved.
