Description The issue arises from improper handling of X.509 certificates with crafted Relative Distinguished Names (RDNs) by the asn1 length function. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically a crash of the pluto IKE daemon, via malformed ASN.1 data.

Recommendations For strongSwan versions 2.8 through 2.8.10, update to version 2.8.11 or later. For strongSwan versions 4.2 through 4.2.16, update to version 4.2.17 or later. For strongSwan versions 4.3 through 4.3.2, update to version 4.3.3 or later.
