Description
The issue is related to the improper validation of user-mode input by the win32k.sys driver in the kernel-mode drivers in Microsoft Windows. This allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in the way that Windows kernel-mode drivers validate data supplied from user mode to kernel mode. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could run arbitrary code in kernel mode and take complete control of an affected system.

For Windows XP versions SP2 and SP3, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
For Windows Server 2003 version SP2, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
