CVE-2012-2110

CVSS v2.0

7.5

Alta

VetorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenSSL versions prior to 0.9.8v OpenSSL versions prior to 1.0.0i
Description The issue is related to the improper interpretation of integer data in the asn1 d2i read bio function, which can lead to buffer overflow attacks. This can cause a denial of service, memory corruption, or have other unspecified impacts. The exploitation can be done remotely using crafted DER data, such as an X.509 certificate or an RSA public key.
Recommendations For OpenSSL versions prior to 0.9.8v, update to version 0.9.8v or later. For OpenSSL versions prior to 1.0.0i, update to version 1.0.0i or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the asn1 d2i read bio function until a patch is available.
