Description The issue is related to improper string conversions, which can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This is achieved by sending a crafted packet, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference and application crash. The problem is associated with the epan/to str.c file.

Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.4.x through 1.4.10, update to version 1.4.11 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.6.x through 1.6.4, update to version 1.6.5 or later.
