Description The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the nim: protocol handler. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an import command containing a long string in the filename parameter.

Recommendations For Novell GroupWise Messenger versions 2.04 and earlier, update to a version later than 2.04. For Novell Messenger versions 2.1.x through 2.2.1, update to version 2.2.2 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the import command in the nim: protocol handler until a patch is available.
