Description The issue is related to the dissect ber choice function in the ASN.1 BER dissector, which does not properly initialize a certain variable. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash, via a malformed packet.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.6.x through 1.6.14, update to version 1.6.15 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.8.x through 1.8.6, update to version 1.8.7 or later.
