Description The issue is related to the vwr read function in the Ixia IxVeriWave file parser, which does not validate the relationship between a record length and a trailer length. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a heap-based buffer overflow and application crash, via a crafted packet.

Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.8.x through 1.8.7, update to version 1.8.8 or later to resolve the issue.
