CVE-2013-4238

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Média

VetorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Python versions 2.6 through 3.4
Description The issue arises from the ssl.match hostname function in the SSL module, which fails to properly handle a '0' character in a domain name in the Subject Alternative Name field of an X.509 certificate. This allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority.
Recommendations For Python versions 2.6 through 3.4, consider updating to a version where this issue is resolved, as the current version is affected by this issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
