Description The issue is related to the improper implementation of file associations by the ShellExecute API in the Windows Shell, allowing local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. This has been exploited in the wild. A successful exploitation of the vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the Local System account, enabling them to install programs, view, modify, and delete data, as well as create new accounts with full administrator rights.
