CVSS v2.0
6.8
Média
| Vetor | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Internet Explorer versions 6 through 11
Description
The issue is related to incorrect certificate validation during a TLS session, allowing an attacker to intercept and access sensitive data by exploiting the vulnerability. This can occur through a "triple handshake attack" where the attacker can modify TLS session data. The vulnerability enables man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain sensitive information.
Recommendations
For Internet Explorer versions 6 through 11, consider disabling the renegotiation feature as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive data and servers to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
