CVE-2014-1513

CVSS v2.0

9.3

Alta

VetorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 28.0 Firefox ESR versions 24.x prior to 24.4 Thunderbird versions prior to 24.4 SeaMonkey versions prior to 2.25
Description The issue is related to errors in the implementation of the TypedArrayObject.cpp class, which allows for zero-length transitions when using an ArrayBuffer object. This can be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service, such as a heap-based out-of-bounds write or read, by using a specially crafted web site.
Recommendations For Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 28.0, update to version 28.0 or later. For Firefox ESR versions 24.x prior to 24.4, update to version 24.4 or later. For Thunderbird versions prior to 24.4, update to version 24.4 or later. For SeaMonkey versions prior to 2.25, update to version 2.25 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ArrayBuffer object until a patch is available. Avoid using the ArrayBuffer object in sensitive operations until the issue is resolved.
