CVE-2014-4122
CVSS v2.0
4.3
Média
| Vetor | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft .NET Framework versions 2.0 SP2, 3.5, and 3.5.1
Description
A security feature bypass issue exists, allowing attackers to bypass the Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) protection mechanism. This bypass, by itself, does not enable arbitrary code execution but can be used in conjunction with other vulnerabilities, such as remote code execution vulnerabilities, to execute arbitrary code. The ASLR bypass leverages the predictability of an executable image's location, potentially allowing attackers to obtain sensitive information about memory addresses.
Recommendations
For Microsoft .NET Framework versions 2.0 SP2, 3.5, and 3.5.1, consider applying configuration changes to enhance memory address randomization as a temporary mitigation measure.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
