Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Catfish versions prior to 1.0.2 Catfish through 0.4.0.3
Description The issue allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse catfish.pyc in the current working directory. Exploitation of the vulnerabilities may lead to disruption of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The exploitation can be carried out locally.
Recommendations For Catfish versions prior to 1.0.2, update to version 1.0.2 or later to resolve the issue. For Catfish through 0.4.0.3, update to a version later than 0.4.0.3 to mitigate the risk. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the current working directory to minimize the risk of exploitation.
