CVE-2014-8737

CVSS v2.0

3.6

Baixa

VetorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GNU binutils versions 2.24 and earlier
Description The issue allows local users to delete arbitrary files or create arbitrary files via directory traversal vulnerabilities in GNU binutils. This can be achieved by using a .. (dot dot) or full path name in an archive to various binutils commands.
Recommendations For GNU binutils versions 2.24 and earlier, consider restricting access to the archive functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the .. (dot dot) or full path names in archives with commands such as strip, objcopy, or ar. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
