Description
The issue is related to the ecc 256 modp function in ecc-256.c, which does not properly handle carry propagation and produces incorrect output in its implementation of the P-256 NIST elliptic curve. This allows attackers to have an unspecified impact via unknown vectors. The vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to affect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information due to errors in cryptographic transformations.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 3.2, update to version 3.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the ecc 256 modp function until a patch is available.
