Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 3.19.6
Description The issue is related to the Neighbor Discovery (ND) protocol implementation in the IPv6 stack of the Linux kernel. It allows remote attackers to reconfigure a hop-limit setting via a small hop limit value in a Router Advertisement (RA) message. This is due to a flaw in the ndisc router discovery function in net/ipv6/ndisc.c.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.19.6, update to version 3.19.6 or later to resolve the issue.
