Description
The issue is related to errors in the code of the MySQL database management system. It can be exploited by a remote attacker to disrupt availability by affecting the server. The vulnerability allows local users to affect availability via vectors related to the PS component. A high-privileged attacker with network access can compromise the MySQL Server, resulting in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.5.47 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.47.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.28 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.28.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.10 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.10.
For MariaDB versions prior to 5.5.48, update to version 5.5.48 or later.
For MariaDB versions 10.0.x prior to 10.0.24, update to version 10.0.24 or later.
