Description
The issue is related to errors in the code of the MySQL database management system, specifically affecting the MyISAM server component. Exploitation of this issue can allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality of information by influencing the server. Local users can also affect confidentiality and availability through vectors related to MyISAM. The vulnerability can be easily exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, potentially leading to a hang or crash (complete denial of service) of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.5.47 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.47.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.28 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.28.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.10 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.10.
For MariaDB versions prior to 5.5.48, update to version 5.5.48 or later.
