CVE-2017-3258

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Média

VetorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.5.53 and earlier MySQL Server versions 5.6.34 and earlier MySQL Server versions 5.7.16 and earlier
Description The issue exists due to insufficient input validation in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the DDL subcomponent. This allows a remote attacker to cause the server to hang or crash by sending specially crafted network packets. The vulnerability can be exploited by an attacker with network access via multiple protocols, resulting in a denial-of-service (DOS) condition.
Recommendations For MySQL Server version 5.5.53 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.53 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 5.6.34 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.34 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 5.7.16 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.16 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
