Description A denial of service issue in libmedia and libstagefright in Mediaserver could allow an attacker to use a specially crafted file to cause a device hang or reboot. This issue is related to the incorrect processing of data, which may enable a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

Recommendations For Android versions 4.4.4, 5.0.2, 5.1.1, 6.0, 6.0.1, 7.0, consider disabling the libmedia and libstagefright components in Mediaserver as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
