Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle VM VirtualBox versions prior to 5.1.24
Description The issue allows a low-privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where Oracle VM VirtualBox executes to compromise Oracle VM VirtualBox. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle VM VirtualBox accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service of Oracle VM VirtualBox. While the vulnerability is in Oracle VM VirtualBox, attacks may significantly impact additional products.
Recommendations For versions prior to 5.1.24, update to version 5.1.24 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Oracle VM VirtualBox component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
