Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a heap-based buffer over-read and application crash, via a crafted ELF file. This is due to a problem in the check sysv hash function in elflint.c.
Recommendations For elfutils version 0.168, consider updating to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue, as using a crafted ELF file can cause the application to crash. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
