Description An information disclosure issue in the libmpeg2 component of the Mediaserver in Android could allow a local malicious application to access data outside of its permission levels. This could be used to access data without permission. The issue is related to the lack of protection for service data, which could allow a remote attacker to violate data confidentiality using a local malicious application.

Recommendations For Android versions 6.0 through 7.1.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent unauthorized data access. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
