CVE-2017-3309

CVSS v3.1

7.7

Alta

VetorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.5.54 and earlier MySQL Server versions 5.6.35 and earlier MySQL Server versions 5.7.17 and earlier
Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Optimizer subcomponent. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause the system to hang or crash using network packets. The vulnerability can be easily exploited by a low-privileged attacker with network access, potentially compromising the MySQL Server and having a significant impact on additional products. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.5.54 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.54 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 5.6.35 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.35 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 5.7.17 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.17 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
