Description
The issue is related to memory leaks in the
parse8BIMW and format8BIM functions in coders/meta.c, which are connected to the WriteImage function. This is caused by a buffer overflow in memory, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause memory access issues.Recommendations
For ImageMagick version 7.0.6-5, consider disabling the
parse8BIMW and format8BIM functions in coders/meta.c as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the WriteImage function in MagickCore/constitute.c to minimize the risk of exploitation.
