Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Edge in Microsoft Windows 10 version 1703
Description
The issue is caused by how Microsoft Edge handles objects in memory, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. This can be achieved through a buffer overflow operation in memory. If the current user has administrative rights, an attacker could take control of the affected system, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Edge in Microsoft Windows 10 version 1703, update to a version that properly handles objects in memory to prevent arbitrary code execution.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
