CVE-2018-0936

CVSS v2.0

7.6

Alta

VetorAV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Microsoft Edge (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in memory due to improper handling of JavaScript scripts by the ChakraCore engine and Microsoft Edge browser. This could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code using specially crafted web page content. The vulnerability can corrupt memory, enabling an attacker to execute code in the context of the current user. If the user has administrative rights, a successful exploitation could lead to an attacker taking control of the affected system, allowing them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
