Description The UMTS MAC dissector in Wireshark could crash unexpectedly due to a certain reserved value. This issue was addressed by rejecting the reserved value in epan/dissectors/packet-umts mac.c.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 2.2.0 through 2.2.12, update the epan/dissectors/packet-umts mac.c file to reject the certain reserved value. For Wireshark versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.4, update the epan/dissectors/packet-umts mac.c file to reject the certain reserved value. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the UMTS MAC dissector until a patch is available.
