Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within ConvertToPDF x86.dll due to the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For Foxit Reader version 9.0.1.1049, consider disabling the ConvertToPDF x86.dll module as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to potentially malicious files or web pages to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
