Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is caused by memory release errors in the Linux kernel's drivers/isdn/hisax/avma1 cs.ko module. Exploitation of this issue can allow an attacker to cause a denial of service in the operating system by disconnecting a PCMCIA device emulating AVM A1. This occurs because the
avma1cs detach function in avma1 cs.c attempts to free the memory pointed to by link->priv, which contains an integer returned by hisax init pcmcia (representing the number of card objects, nrcards), rather than a memory pointer. As a result, there may be an attempt to free an unallocated or unclaimed memory region.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
