CVE-2018-11683

CVSS v2.0

9.3

Alta

VetorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Liblouis version 3.5.0
Description: The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the parseChars function in compileTranslationTable.c. This allows a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code. The vulnerability is distinct from previous issues.
Recommendations: For Liblouis version 3.5.0, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the parseChars function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the compileTranslationTable.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the parseChars function in sensitive operations until the issue is resolved.
