Description
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools component, specifically the Portal subcomponent. It allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. This can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools accessible data.
Recommendations
For version 8.55, update to a fixed version to resolve the issue.
For version 8.56, update to a fixed version to resolve the issue.
For version 8.57, update to a fixed version to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Portal subcomponent until a patch is available.
