Description The issue is related to a lack of protection for internal data in the BI Publisher Security component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using the HTTP protocol to gain unauthorized access to protected information. The attacker, with low privileges and network access, can compromise BI Publisher, resulting in unauthorized read access to a subset of accessible data.
Recommendations For versions 11.1.1.9.0, 12.2.1.3.0, and 12.2.1.4.0, consider restricting access to the BI Publisher Security component until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of the HTTP protocol for accessing BI Publisher to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict network access to the BI Publisher component to reduce the attack surface.
