Description
The issue is related to a memory leak in the firewire component when handling requests to the IEC 61883-1 FCP region. This memory leak was introduced in version v2.6.33 and was fixed in version v5.15.93. The actual impact and attack plausibility of this issue have not yet been proven.
Recommendations
For Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.15.93, update to version v5.15.93 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the firewire component until a patch is available.
