Description
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the cyttsp4 core driver in the Linux kernel. This issue occurs in the device cleanup routine due to a possible rearming of the watchdog timer from the workqueue. The vulnerability is related to a race condition, allowing a local user to crash the system, causing a denial of service. The
cyttsp4 stop wd timer() function in the drivers/input/touchscreen/cyttsp4 core.c module is affected.Recommendations
To resolve the issue, change
del timer sync() to timer shutdown sync() in the cyttsp4 core driver.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.DoS
