Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the PIA Core Technology component. It allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools, requiring human interaction from a person other than the attacker. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' accessible data.
Recommendations
For versions 8.59 and 8.60, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the PIA Core Technology component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Restrict input validation to prevent unauthorized access to PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools' data.
