Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe Audition when parsing a crafted file, which could result in a read past the end of an allocated memory structure. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations
For Adobe Audition versions 24.0 and earlier, update to a version that fixes the out-of-bounds read vulnerability.
For Adobe Audition versions 23.6.1 and earlier, update to a version that fixes the out-of-bounds read vulnerability.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of crafted files that could trigger the out-of-bounds read vulnerability until a patch is available.
