Description
A critical vulnerability was found in the D-Link DIR-823G, affecting the
SetUpnpSettings function of the UPnP Service component. The manipulation of the SOAPAction argument leads to improper authorization, allowing for remote attacks. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.Recommendations
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
SetUpnpSettings function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /HNAP1/ file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the SOAPAction argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
